This interview is part of the Entrepreneurial Women Series, a column published by Leila Lewis, to shine the light on the inspiring women making waves in the business world.
Recognized by the Denver Metro Area Realtors as one of the best in the Colorado real estate community, Ann Durham has made a name for herself in the industry, selling over $100 million in real estate – and counting! What started as a side hustle to keep her busy has turned into a booming career, thanks to her ambition and drive. A frequent top producer, she has recently been named one of Downtown Colorado’s Quarterly Best Qualifiers for Liv Sothebys fourth-quarter Gross Commissionable Income, as well as been awarded the Real Producers Magazine’s Top 1% 2020 Award. It is clear that Ann’s career is still climbing, and we are honored to learn from her experience and hear more of her story!
What inspired you to start Ann Durham Properties and how has it grown since then?
9 years ago, my oldest daughter left for college and I decided I needed to have an outlet for my spare time and abundant energy. In my first year, I had 3 million dollars in sales; in 2020, I had over 30 million dollars in sales!
What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?
Stay calm, always do the right thing, and things will work out the way they are supposed to!
How have you adapted to change in your industry?
In 2012, there was an over-abundance of inventory and in 2021, there is historically low inventory. In either case, the brokers that think outside the box and use their creativity are the brokers that will be successful regardless of the market.
What excites you most about what you do?
I LOVE working with clients relocating to Denver. After moving to Denver 25 years ago, I know how important it is to help people figure out what area is going to be the best fit.

Rapid Fire!

What’s one thing you always start your mornings with?
I start each day by thanking God for the things I am grateful for!
What’s your go-to inspiration source (podcast, book, Instagram account, etc.)?
I enjoy the Daily Devotional, which is an app on my phone, and following the 7 Traits of Highly Successful People on Instagram.
What are 3 words you’d hope clients/customers would use to describe you & your brand?
Tenacious, Integrity, and Knowledgeable!
