Julia Pimsleur Hosts Virtual Summit To Elevate Women Entrepreneurs

The foundation of the Million Dollar Women organization is built on empowering women entrepreneurs through a powerful mindset, business education, mentorship, and a network to scale their businesses to $1 million in revenue. This year, Julia Pimsleur - scaling coach, author, speaker, and founder of Million Dollar Women - hosted the 5th annual Million Dollar Women Summit which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had 400 attendees from across the U.S.
Fewer than 3% of women-owned businesses get to $1 million in annual revenue, and for women of color, it is less than 1%. This year’s MDW Summit was highly focused on learning new business skills for scaling up, building relationships with other high growth women, and busting limiting beliefs with key takeaways from Pimsleur’s new book Go Big Now, and reinventing ourselves to “run a business, enjoy your work - and your life.”

Advice For Scaling Your Business From Keynote Speakers

Cameron Cruse, Co-Founder and COO of R. Riveter, a company that provides work for U.S. Military spouses, started her company in 2011 and shares her tips on how to scale an idea into a multi-million dollar business: “build everything with clarity so your mission is clear to all.”

Cruse believes these steps are the foundation for building a solid brand. Setting up clear intentions, and learning from mistakes helped her decipher what her business needed in order to succeed, and in her situation, secure financing. In 2016, the launch of her Kickstarter campaign caught the attention of producers at ABC’s Shark Tank, landing her a $100,000 investment from Mark Cuban. Cruse believes in the power of writing your own script, perfecting pitching skills, and delivering a mission with clarity in order to see the payoff of “when you ask, you will receive.”
Brittany Stovall, Co-Founder, and CEO of a multi-million dollar risk management firm Assured Quality Systems, provides quality assurance and technology solutions to major manufacturers. Voted Supplier of the Year in 2017 by Southwest Airlines, and the 40 Under 40 Award from the Dallas Journal, Stovall, built her company on “leveraging relationships” and helping entrepreneurs realizing “your network, is your net worth.” To build relationships, Stovall says the following:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Stovall shared the inspiring and go-getter story of how the long-term relationship she had with her bank allowed her to get the financing she needed to supply PPE to her Major League Baseball customer. Although PPE was not in her usual service offerings, the risky pivot Stovall made (with the support of her relationships and financing) led her to be a preferred vendor by the MLB.
