Imagine clicking on a link directing you to your next virtual networking event. You see at least 10 or more little squares of people displayed on your screen.  What do you do?  Do you sit there idly and watch the event, or do you make the first move?
Since March 2020, we are in a complete reinvention of the way we connect with one another.  In the past, we could walk into a room, and be surrounded by potential prospects, with whom we would be sharing a glass of wine or a cocktail. Because of our new normal, our professional interactions have mainly been relegated to online digital platforms, resulting in the inability to connect with our prospects while being in the same room.  So how do we make meaningful connections in this new normal?
It was a challenge for our business (as it is for many) to re-create the magic of our in-person networking sessions on our digital platform, and over the last several months, we have witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Based on our experience pertaining to what works and what doesn’t, we’ve compiled a list of Do’s and Don’ts to help you successfully navigate the sometimes awkward and daunting (but necessary) precipice of online networking. Ready?

Online networking will have its awkward moments, but if you follow this guide, and with a little bit of practice, you’ll find that it’s very much like any in-person meeting...but with a shorter commute ☺.
