For some people, getting up in the morning can be a very difficult thing to do, while for others, it can be the easiest thing in the world. If you can’t wake to your alarm clock, regret writing an enormous to-do list, or stress over the load of work you have for the day, then you don't really have very healthy mornings or daily routines, for that matter. Luckily, you can easily fix this with a few healthy practices. Here are some helpful tips to get started on this.

Play Some Music

If the first thing you start your mornings with is checking your email, then it won’t be surprising if you are in a sour mood for the rest of the day. On the other hand, if you start your mornings with music, then you can expect your mood to be uplifted by miles. Make sure that you start your day with a funky playlist, either one that is made by you, or you can choose one of the numerous playlists that people make on Spotify for free! The great thing about smartphones nowadays is that they can play music once you wake up. All you have to do is enter the settings, and voilà! So, be sure to customize a morning playlist that can energize you at the start of the day.

Have a Relaxing Shower

Most people have a shower in the morning, though it can be rushed because you may either have work to do and a daily commute to start or you have other tasks to catch up on. In either case, you must take your time during a morning shower, as it can be great for your health if you give yourself time to enjoy them. Warm water will rid you of that grogginess you feel once you wake up and loosen your muscles. In addition to that, you can think about a lot of things during your morning showers like your life decisions and what’s lying ahead of you, though you must think about positive prospects instead of negative ones to maintain that serene feeling resulting from a long, relaxing shower.

Exercise Self-Care

The purpose of this new morning routine is to promote your health and wellness. Exercising self-care can also be quite effective in rebuilding your mental health by promoting self-confidence. In fact, once you feel better about your appearance, you’ll have one less thing to worry about for the rest of the day. Self-care practices include doing a haircare and skincare routine, as well as hygiene and grooming habits that will make you feel good about yourself. This can also involve picking your clothes the night before you sleep (this is particularly helpful, especially if you tend to run out of time in the mornings). Looking presentable and healthy will make you feel like it, which will ultimately boost your confidence.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Sometimes, you can be too busy to make a nutritious breakfast, so you resort to eating an unhealthy breakfast or skip it altogether. It goes without saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so skipping it can negatively affect your health and energy levels.
Make sure to start the day with a healthy meal in the morning. This will help balance your blood sugar levels and boost your energy levels, which is especially important if you are going to undergo considerable physical and mental stress throughout the day.
However, most of us are in a hurry in the mornings. That is why it is recommended that you get a quiet blender for the mornings so you can make healthy smoothies and juices to go without causing a ruckus so as not to disturb your sleeping family members while you whip up your healthy beverages. You won’t have to feel drowsy, tired, or drained of energy because you didn’t have enough time to prepare a healthy breakfast.

Write in Your Journal

Journaling is one of the best practices to manage your stress and maintain your mental health. It is also a great method to increase your self-awareness. Writing a journal doesn’t mean that you have to be an adept writer because the goal here is to bring your thoughts and goals into focus. It should also help you process negative emotions by laying them out in writing. It should also help you understand yourself better, especially if your thoughts are often jumbled and hard to discern. Make sure to dedicate a few minutes to reflect on the positives and negatives of the previous day, and be sure to write all that down. You can also write about what you are grateful for, which is a great stress relief strategy.

Start with Your to-do List

This is probably the part of your day that you dread the most. Sure, getting through your to-do list can be a bit difficult and mind-numbing, but there are a few methods that can help you combat this. For example, sectioning your to-do list into three sections (the high-priority tasks, important tasks, then least important tasks). You can also set up three important goals before starting with the rest of the tasks, which can evoke a sense of accomplishment. The result would be a purely psychological urge to go through the rest of the tasks since you’ve managed to finish up three at the start of the day.

Exercise or Do Yoga

Whichever suits your tastes, exercising or doing yoga can have a rejuvenating impact on your psyche and body. Exercising will keep you in shape and boost your physical health. Yoga will also help you stay in shape through vigorous stretching exercises, but it can be a huge stress reliever, especially that it involves a lot of meditation. Yoga combines a lot of helpful stress management techniques, like diaphragmatic breathing, stretching, meditation, etc., which will all have a positive impact on your health. You can start exercising by taking a thirty-minute walk in the morning, then move to more serious exercises. You can also start practicing yoga with a few stretching exercises to acclimate your body to this new activity.
Now that you know some helpful tips to start your day in a timely and healthy manner, all you have to do is to plan it out. Note that you don’t have to follow these tips in the sequence they’re presented here; everybody functions differently, and thus, the order of these tips can change depending on your needs and daily routine. The important thing to remember here is to be consistent for your efforts to pay off.
