Your home is a place where you kick start your day and, most often than not, end your day as well. That is why you should feel most comfortable there. Whether it’s your sofa pillows, fancy rug, cozy bed, or aesthetically pleasing curtains, all add warmth to your personal space. Although we develop a sense of attachment to our precious décor and furniture, we often wonder, “Is it about time we make some changes to our home or just go with the flow?”
Well, there is no exact answer to this question, really. This isn’t a math equation that is going to have a specific, correct answer. It all depends on your taste, preference, budget, the condition of your furniture or maybe you just want to. Although most interior designers recommend redecorating your house two times within eight years to add a unique, crisp finish to it and follow the trend.
However, if you are still in the phase of deciding whether to change your house décor and furniture or not. Answering some of these questions will help you get answers to your unanswered questions:
How Long Has It Been?
If it has been ages since you last redecorated your house and you have been bummed by the look of it, it’s about time you change your house décor and furniture.
I get it, nostalgia is a wonderful thing and you may have been emotionally attached to your interior, but you also need to add a spark of joy to your personal space. You can start throwing out a piece of furniture one by one that you have been eyeing to do so for a long time. If it doesn’t bring you joy, then what have you lost? Nothing. You weren’t happy with that piece before as well so you see it’s a win-win situation.
You don’t have to throw away your high-end sofas that are in good condition. You can also start making small changes to your space:

Does a Certain Room Still Fulfil My Daily Needs?
I know you all are going to agree with me on this. We all have a certain room in our home that doesn’t fit our lifestyle or we don’t use it for the purpose it actually was made for. This can be a fresh start to redecorate your home.
If you’ve been itching to renovate your perfectly set up home, go for a room that you never use for its intended purpose. For example, a small living room that you decorated for yourself to chill in (which you never chill in, really), and you can transform it into something more practical like a home office.
This will not only help you satisfy your urge to decorate your home but it is actually going to be beneficial. You will also have a more functional space to yourself. Voila!
Why Do I Have The Desire To Redecorate?
At times, we really want to redecorate our house décor and furniture, but the reason behind it gives a meaningful conclusion. You need to ask yourself if it’s truly time for some changes or you want to do it simply because everyone else has been doing it?
You should never feel obliged to do something just because others are doing it because the chances are in the middle of the process you may regret your decisions.
If you’re a person like me who is scrolling through social media platforms round the clock, I'm pretty sure you will get tempted by the fancy Pinterest or Instagram house redecorating posts.
We often think to ourselves that how come these home décor bloggers or social media influencers keep changing their décor and we kind of feel pressured as well. What we really don’t know is, it's part of their job and this is what they get paid for. Obviously, nobody would want to see the pictures of the same space being posted every single day for home décor inspiration.
Could I Be Happy With Small Changes?
Sometimes we just crave for small changes and deep down inside, we are unaware of that. Before taking a plunge into a full-blown home makeover, you should try to make smaller changes in your home. I have already jotted down the ideas right above for inspiration.
If the smaller changes satisfy your redecorating cravings, it means you don’t need to splurge plenty of money for an entire home makeover.
Are You Willing to Sell Your Home Soon?
It may not seem like the best idea ever. I know you might be thinking, “Why would I want to redecorate my entire house as I won’t be the one to enjoy the special touches?” If you are going to sell your home, you can’t just give it away in an old rusty condition. This won’t totally attract the buyers, let alone pitching a high-paying buyer.
You don’t have to burn a hole in your pocket in order to make your home appealing. You can simply make sure that the tiles and floor are in good shape. Also, you can get the walls painted. Go for a neutral color as it appeals to a wider audience. This way you will be able to satisfy your cravings while also making it a home for new members.
