The Covid-19 pandemic is still present after a year since being declared. Most countries have imposed lockdown restrictions to prevent cases from soaring even further. Many of us thought that staying inside for prolonged periods is easy. However, many are realizing the downsides of being stuck at home.
If you are like one of the millions out there, you’re probably bored out of your wits because of the pandemic already. There are many ways in which you and your family can have fun during this lockdown period. Fun activities don’t always involve having to go outside after all.

Play Video Games!

The video game industry is still progressive during this lockdown period. Despite the restrictions, both Sony and Microsoft were even able to launch their new consoles late last year. Although the stocks were limited, both companies were still able to deliver great.
On top of that, both companies - along with Nintendo, continue to launch new games, so gamers have a ton of ways to get by this pandemic. Sony has even launched the Play At Home initiative where it gives players free games to encourage them to stay inside.
What if you don’t have any of these consoles just yet? The good news is that there are more than a handful of games you can get into online. There are a lot of free flash games online, and you don’t even need a good PC for them. If you are feeling nostalgic, you can play solitaire online too. There’s actually a ton of the classic games you used to play running online. Just search carefully, and you’ll never be bored out of your wits again.

Schedule Game Nights With the Family

It’s really tough getting through the pandemic, but on the bright side, most of us now have more time to spend with our family. Use this opportunity to bond with them in many ways. If you have kids inside the house, then it’s good to schedule game nights with them too.
You don’t need expensive rigs or video games. Tried and tested games like charades, treasure hunts, or even hide and seek. Try to pick games that get the mind and the body active so that everyone stays healthy inside the house too.
If you have the budget for it, try to invest in some fun board games as well. Ideally, you’d want to get fan favorites like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Twister. These aren’t as expensive as video games, but they are just as fun.

Start a DIY Project

Now’s the time to get in touch with your creative side. Other than painting pieces of art or making pottery, why not start a DIY project in your garage? This is a great way to bond with your family. What’s even better is that you can all plan on creating something useful for the house.
All you need is to look for blueprints online first. Go for something practical and easy to make, such as a table, a chair, or even a cabinet. You can buy everything you need for the project at any hardware store.
Some people find relaxation and calm in doing DIY projects. Moreover, the feeling of creating something from scratch is always satisfying. As you have a lot of time on your hands now, you can practice this new hobby and create better projects in the future.
Don’t stick to woodwork. You can go for metal projects too. If the budget permits, try to buy a 3D printer so that you can make more artistic creations easily.

Binge Movies

Having fun doesn’t always mean working up a sweat or buying new stuff. Since you now have more time on your hands, why not binge movies? There are a plethora of streaming platforms that can help get you through the pandemic, and in them are countless movies as well.
Make it a practice to watch at least one movie per day with your family. To make things even more exciting, make each family member pick out the movie for the night every day.
It would be great if you set up themes for your marathons too. For instance, you and the family could stream the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe movies for a week.
It’s surprisingly easy to have fun during this pandemic. The truth is that there are not many things stopping you from enjoying these trying times with your family. These are just a few examples, though, as there are endless ways to have fun while stuck at home.
