Are you tired of your EDC (everyday carry) gear? Lucky you! I've prepared top slim, blackout-proof, and essential lightweight items that you can carry every day. Don’t worry, we are not planning to turn you into a marine. Instead, these items will make your life easier.
Many posts have been written about the gear you should always have on you but have never broken it down to a simple, essential, yet well-rounded list. We specifically wanted you to give you options that are both on form and highly efficient.

Lighter

The go-to tool for starting campfires is just an inexpensive Bic lighter. It fits in your pocket nicely and will work in most situations. They have a mini version that is super easy to keep in the pocket. If you don’t smoke or have buddies who do, this lighter got enough fuel to last for long. Zippo lighters are cooler, especially with chicks, but they hold fuel for much less time. But, make sure you get lighter on you.

A Good Knife

It’s perhaps one of the most useful gears to have on you. It might not be for survival situations but having a knife that could come in handy in different situations and is easy to carry around is superb! Make sure to check out some of the best fixed blade knives options available before deciding on one. You might want something that is made of durable carbon steel, and you don’t have to break the bank for it.
One with spring assist is especially a favorite. Press the button, and it opens and locks to turn into a fixed blade knife. Some of you live in strict locales, and this might run afoul of the law. A knife that’s easy to carry is useful for city life but not for the woods.

A Pen

A pen comes in handy in everyday situations, from making notes, updating the to-do list, or even noting down phone numbers. Having the essential phone numbers in writing is critical when your phone battery dies. When it comes to survival, a pen is used to write the locations of landmarks, water sources or even leave notes for the rescuers.
And just like with most equipment, if it doesn’t work even in the most extreme conditions, it’s useless to have it. So, make sure to get space pens. They fit easily inside your pocket and work in all conditions.

Notepad

Having a pen doesn’t mean much if you have nothing to write on. Get a waterproof tactical notebook, and you’ll never stop carrying one. Get a 3.5”x5” that fits in your pocket easily and is lightweight. But, there are larger ones for anyone carrying a bag.

Flashlight

We know what you’re thinking; why do I need a flashlight when one on my smartphone? But your phone’s flashlight is not the brightest. Having AA flashlights is incredibly convenient as you can get the batteries pretty much everywhere, saving you the hassle of carrying spares. You could get one in a neutral light. And, AA flashlights are super cheap. You’ll end up getting one for every person in the family and every vehicle.

Cellphone

You want incredible tech capability and something that doesn’t take much of your hand’s real estate. Having a smartphone on you always is convenient for the many apps you can use to put a few things in shape. And, in survival situations, you can use your phone as a compass. In any case, it is from your phone you can call 911 if you’re lost. And you can keep your life in order with phone reminders. You don’t want to forget her birthday again.

Comb

Everyone knows you’re THE cool one, but do you look like it? Get a slim comb to keep your hair looking superb. It’ll reduce your trips to the stylist. A Model 1 comb with a low profile design will easily fit in your pocket.

A Multitool

Knives are incredibly reliable, but they too have their limitations. Should you have room, get a multitool to give you the options of pliers, screwdrivers, and even a second blade. You don’t need anything too complicated. There are pretty simple yet effective choices out there, so check them out.

Wallet

Get a lightweight wallet that will help you keep track of your credit cards and cash. And, it shouldn’t weigh down the pocket. A strong yet light wallet is an excellent way of tracking your cheddar. You can, of course, go for a bulkier option if you want to carry important photos or notes with you, but outdoors, it will only slow you down.
How many of these items do you already have? These tools, especially EDC knives, are a great way of expressing your personality. And, most importantly, they give you the confidence you’ll solve any problem that might happen out of nowhere.
