With online Blackjack becoming increasingly popular amongst the majority of avid casino fans, it’s unsurprising that your favourite celebrities have also decided to grab a piece of the action. Well, they’re only human, after all!
From inspiring movie roles, to just trying to find an outlet for all that money, there are many reasons why our famous friends might have a soft spot for Blackjack. And, we’re sure you’ll want to follow in their footsteps after we talk through some of the top celebrity fans of the casino classic.
Matt Damon
Our first famous fan is film star Matt Damon, who found an interest for the fast-paced and high-staking edition of the game when he was researching for his role in Rounders. Damon is known to be a close friend of Ben Affleck, who also has a strong love for the game, it’s thought that Affleck may have encouraged him to have his turn at the game too.
In fact, the pair are regular fixtures at the grandest of Blackjack tables that can found across Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos. Notably, one of Damon and Affleck escapades led a million dollar win from just one night at a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida!
Ben Affleck
Now onto Matt Damon’s aforementioned partner in crime. Fellow Hollywood actor Ben Affleck makes no secret of his love for card-based casino games. Affleck is well-known for his Poker prowess, especially after he flexed his skills back in 2004, when he won the California Poker Championship.
However, it’s still Affleck’s love for Blackjack that takes centre stage, with the majority of attention going to his and Damon’s Florida blowout. It was reported at the time that Affleck was actually kicked off of the Blackjack tables at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino when those in charge decided that he had started winning too much! In a single sitting, the suave star had racked up a whopping $95,000 – although he later admitted to previously studying expert Blackjack strategies, as well as dabbling in card counting.
Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods is perhaps one of the most famous professional golfers in the world, as well as being a regular feature in a lot of questionable tabloid stories. But what you might not know about Woods is that he’s also a big fan of high-stake Blackjack gaming! He’s a regular face down at the Bellagio and MGM Grand Resort in Las Vegas, where he’s guaranteed to be met with not only VIP treatment, but also a credit rumour that’s expected to be at an astonishing $4 million limit.
Dana White
Another figure from the sports world that favours the blackjack tables is UFC president Dana White. If you’re a fan of the larger-than-life UFC tycoon, then we’re sure you’ve heard him mention his love for betting big at the casino. White often brags to the media about his impressive wins from various Blackjack games, once claiming to have walked away with up to $5 million, allegedly having to drag the lump sum away in big bags!
