We can all say that we are guilty of being so involved with life, what we have, and where we are going, that we forget to live it. Well, travel allows you to live well with very little having to come along with you. I personally can vouch massively for this one, because up until the pandemic I was hopping across the globe with one suitcase and a laptop to work on. That was all I needed. I was able to appreciate each day as it came, with no concern for what I had, as it did not define having the life-changing moments that travel equipped me with. Trust me on this one, true travelers travel light and will be able to leave in the little-to-no notice. That’s how to present and ready you are to embark on the next wind that life can sail you to.
You can make friends and connect with anyone
Due to the fact travel is so freeing and often doesn’t have many social constructs, you will find that you can literally meet a lifelong best friend in the quirky quaint coffee shop that you popped into for a bite to take away. A simple connection over the one found common motive (travel) will instantly connect you with fellow solo travelers out there. It’s that simple. Again, I will go back to the previous point about, it’s not about what you have but where you are going and how present you are. That energy will emit off of you, and other fellow travelers and wanderlust souls will see that in you and be attracted to the same quality they see within themselves.
Being alone is meditational
Travel often is best when it is done solely. While you may think it can be a lonely road to face alone, the moment to reflect and meditate within all the experiences that travel can bring to you, outweighs it all. The scales will always be tipped towards an open road amongst the unknown and with you happily being pulled with it.
Traveling alone lets you plan your perfect vacation much more easily, as it will be dictated by your preferences and yours alone. You will not need to match schedules or plan group days out, you can be purely selfish. And guess what? There will be no guilt attached to this whatsoever. When you look back on all the memories you collated traveling alone, you will not think about how alone you were, but rather how freedom was always there for the taking, and of course you took it all, no questions asked.
