The reality is, as women, we don't know our worth because we live according to our past and not our future. It's time to change that. At times, a woman's worth is buried in abuse, hatred, rejection, abandonment, and broken relationships stemming from childhood. For a healthy sense of self-worth, you must handle the "trash". Oftentimes, the "trash" from our childhood is overlooked, and it creates in us many voids and pain that we feel will go away when not confronted. We begin to overwork, overdrink, and overindulge in friendships and relationships to escape and compensate for the lack of harmony in our life.

What you refuse to face will hinder you from flourishing as a woman.

It will keep you in the cycle of believing and acting like you are a waste and unworthy, and not a treasure. I am thirty-two years old, and I’ve come to discover that we, as women, are a powerful force on earth. It took me some time to understand who I was as I was emerging on the scene of ministry, business, and Hollywood. As I emerged, I began to deal with my inner issues because if you don’t confront them with therapy, you will find yourself allowing fear to bully you out of doors and platforms that belong to you.

Understand that once you are healed, you are undefeated, because healed people don't run from people who try to intimidate them. At 25 years old, many people hated me as I was the new kid on the block building her first conference. Remember, when growing and expanding, there is always someone who feels that you don't deserve the good coming your way. If you refuse to deal with the "trash", you will believe all the lies these people tell you to intimidate you and hinder your advancement. This is why I insist that you must heal yourself because if you look at it externally, you will never advance internally.

Fight for your freedom! Fight to stand your ground! Fight to become a weapon that destroys the systems of the world that says women can’t.

The harsh reality we have yet to accept is that people aren’t the problem. It’s the inner enemy. It’s us.

As women, if we could see and comprehend, if we could take the time to invest in ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, we would see a massive change in the world. We would see the emergence of women that have not been sexualized or monopolized by men for their beauty, beautiful, sophisticated, intelligent women.

As I emerged, I was going but didn’t entirely deal with the trauma of childhood. As a result, the comments people made about me would affect me negatively and I would see myself as garbage. You will keep seeing yourself according to how you treat and invest in yourself. You respond differently, move differently, and even demand and handle business differently when you know you’re a gem waiting to be found. Found by who? First by YOU. It’s only found when you reach down inside to take out the trash and discover the treasure underneath.

Here I am, six years later, just now dealing with the inner me, and let me tell you that I have developed beyond the capacity I had at the age of twenty-five. I have written books, birthed out business conferences, appeared on tv networks, and even became an entrepreneur. I have done it all, and I’m still emerging beyond the status quo. I had to fight to get to this place. I fought through the poverty mindset that stemmed from my childhood. I fought section 8. I fought the false labels and barriers that were placed on me. I fought through abusive marriages and relationships. What I didn’t do is allow any of these things to stop me. I decided to go to therapy, and as I did, I began to see what I ignored and what I was missing out on because of it.

I emerged as a treasure, and I pioneered. I want to let you know today that, you too, can do the same. Nothing can stop or block you. You are your greatest enemy. Get up each morning ready to dominate fear, prepared to face the inner you so it won’t attack the new. To the woman who is reading this, or to the husband or best friend of a woman who views herself as human waste, let her know it’s time to arise and emerge. Get ready to propel to a purpose.
