Meta: There are plenty of small and subtle changes you could make to your life that will make you healthier. Find out some of the ones you could adopt here!

Some people are able to completely overhaul their lifestyle and do a full change to their routine. However, most of us will attempt to make changes and then completely fall off the bandwagon. A more subtle approach is often needed to ensure that we can make healthy changes to our lifestyle that we can then also stick to.

Walk More

How guilty are you of hopping in the car when you have a small errand to run? If you need to go to the shops or take a small journey somewhere, it can be convenient to just hop in the car, but it might not be the healthiest thing to do overall. Therefore, you should think about potentially walking or maybe even cycling.

Both are great activities to get you moving more. We spend too much of our lives sitting down, when we should be up and moving as much as possible. If you are an office worker or you just spend a lot of time sitting down in your day-to-day life, you need to make sure that you get up and move around more. This could help you to feel more energized and could improve your fitness slightly. Next time you think you might drive somewhere, try to work out whether it would be better to walk instead.

Drink More Water

One thing that many people fail to do without even realizing is drink enough water. Everyone needs a different amount depending on their body weight but you need to make sure that you are drinking about two liters of clean, pure water each day.

Drinks like tea, coffee, or soft drinks don’t count. You can have them on top of your water allowance, but you do need to make sure that you are drinking enough. The easiest way to do so is to get a refillable water bottle and keep it on you, topping up as you go throughout the day.

Get Your Ducks in Order

There are lots of little admin tasks that can sit in the back of our minds and make us overly stressed. Stress, in general, is not good for you so you should look for ways to eliminate it where you can. By sitting down and taking care of these life admin tasks, you will be able to focus your attention somewhere that might be a lot more important.

For example, you might wish to take out a permanent life insurance policy. Permanent life insurance never expires, so you can get on with things that might need to occupy your attention more urgently, knowing that important things like insurance are taken care of.

Learn to Cook

Do you want to feel healthier and more energized with minimal changes? The easiest way to do so by far is to learn how to cook! There are so many delicious and interesting recipes out there for you to explore – and many of them are easy even for a novice cook to handle! If you think that you would be a disaster in the kitchen, it is time that you changed that. With a lot of hard work, you should be able to turn things around so that you are able to cook delicious food without too much stress. You could even learn how to properly use that gadget that has been sitting in the corner of your kitchen for ages, like an air fryer.

If you think that you might not have enough time each day to cook from scratch, you should look into batch cooking. Cooking all your meals at the start of the week and freezing them means that you will always have a delicious home-cooked meal to reach for. Learning to cook also means that you will know exactly what you are eating, so you can include your favorites or cut something out as is appropriate.

Sleep Better

The vast majority of us do not get the good night’s sleep that we need to have. Small and subtle changes to your lifestyle will help you get to sleep faster so you can then wake up feeling refreshed.

One of the first things to do is to stop using your phone and other electronics in the hour before you go to bed if possible. You might wish to use a meditation app before you sleep, or maybe you use your phone as your alarm. Both are fine, but try to limit other contact with these devices. Instead, work on developing a device-free routine that might involve relaxing activities like a bath, light stretching, or reading a book.

These are all subtle changes that will nevertheless make a massive difference in your life overall. If you want to make small improvements that will not massively affect your everyday routine, these areas can be a fantastic place to start. Take a look at your current everyday living, and see where you can make a few adjustments that could lead to a healthier life overall.
