Nancy Etz Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is offered to students in all fields of study. This award recognizes students who are making a difference in the world. Students are asked to write a 500-word essay according to the prompt: “Discuss a special attribute or accomplishment that sets you apart.”
This scholarship is offered to undergraduate and graduate students alike. It can be used in fields related to the performing arts. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2021.
Henry and Chiyo Kuwahara Creative Arts Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for members of the Japanese American Citizens League. The scholarship was established by the Kuwaharas in their estate. The award is meant to encourage the cultural expression of Japanese creative arts. The minimum award for a winner is $1,000 and the maximum is $5,000. The application deadline is April 1, 2021.
F. Lammot Belin Arts Scholarship
Students from northeastern Pennsylvania are preferred to receive this scholarship. Applicants must prove that they have exceptional ability in their field and give evidence that their field will be their life’s work. The competitive selection process involves completing an application form and submitting letters of recommendation. Students also need to present their work and be interviewed. The maximum award level is $12,000. The deadline is December 31, 2020.
Andrew W. Mellon Fellowships
These graduate fellowships are available in art history and museum conservation. The fellowship enables the recipient to work and study at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Recipients should have already received their doctorate degree or have significant progress toward it. The deadline to apply is January 5, 2021.
Grand Rapids Combined Theatre Scholarship
Scholarships are available for students who have worked in community theater in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Two $1,000 awards are presented to deserving students. Applicants must be enrolled full time in an institution of higher learning, with theater arts majors preferred. Students must also sit for an interview. Applications for the 2021-22 academic year will proceed in 2021.
Barbizon College Tuition Scholarship
Barbizon Modeling and Acting, a well-known talent agency, offers a generous scholarship of $100,000 to cover all four years of higher education. Students may study in any field, but performing arts fields are preferred. The deadline is December 1, 2020.
Educational Theatre Association
This scholarship honors excellence in the theater arts and students' aspirations to teach. To select the winning student, their contributions and talents will be compared. They must have the ability to contribute to the positive image of the Educational Theatre Association. While high school theater students are preferred, there is no requirement that the recipient study theater in college. The award cycle for the 2020-21 academic year begins in January 2021.
Alison H. Atkins Vocal Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for students of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. The recipient will be a rising high school senior, preferably a soprano or mezzo-soprano, with interest in majoring in vocal performance or music education. The successful applicant will have a 3.0 GPA overall and a 3.5 GPA in her major. The deadline is February 15, 2021.
ASCAP Foundation Scholarships
There are multiple awards available to composers and songwriters. The programs vary by award level and requirements. These are prestigious scholarships and require nomination by a teacher or professor.
Chopin Foundation of the U.S.
This scholarship program is based on performance ability. It is a $1,000 scholarship which is renewable for four years. It is intended to help recipients prepare for an international competition where the piano works of Chopin will be played. This scholarship can help to launch a young person’s piano career.
