Self-confidence is believing in your personal abilities. The etymology of “confidence” comes from the Latin word confidere. It is therefore to put faith in its potential, without however being sure of the result. Indeed, self-confidence does not require being sure of yourself, on the contrary. A confident state of mind moves forward no matter what, despite the certainties. Having self-confidence means getting out of your comfort zone, and getting started regardless of your doubts and fears. It is, for example, speaking in front of an assembly when one is afraid of speaking in public. It is daring to assert your point of view in the midst of a debate, to embark on personal projects despite criticism or the famous impostor syndrome.

Getting to know yourself better

To achieve self-confidence, there is no need to string together courses, lessons and other encyclopedic readings on the subject. First start by knowing yourself. Lack of confidence comes primarily from a lack of self-awareness. Just as a place becomes more and more familiar to us the more we visit it, so do the same with your inner self. Take a break - mindfulness meditation is great for this. Do not try to suppress but accept your pain, your emotions, your doubts, in short, your thoughts all contribute to your health.

Take action: the best way to gain confidence

Turn your fears and ruminations into action! There's no point in torturing your mind by rewriting scenarios, anticipating situations that probably won't turn out like this. Take action! To take action, there is nothing like getting out of your loneliness and reaching out to others. Discuss, exchange, do not be afraid to share your feelings: with a little luck, your interlocutor also shares them!
However, sometimes in order to gain more confidence, we have to acknowledge that we must make a change. After all, it will be difficult for your confidence to grow if you stay trapped in the same limiting behaviours and mindsets. In order to make a positive change, you must first identify what is causing the lack of confidence in the first place. For example, your low self-esteem may be the result of poor body image. Thankfully, there are various ways in which you can remedy this - such as by switching to a healthier lifestyle.
When moving to a healthier lifestyle, you can find ways to incorporate exercise into your daily routine, or even look into forms of weight-loss treatment and support, such as weight loss treatment wegovy which allow you to lose weight (and boost your confidence) in a safe way.

Choose a phrase that resonates with us

Showing a positive mantra at home that inspires us is a good way to give a positive boost to his day and to restore confidence, in case of slack. It can be a quote, the words of a piece of music, which is displayed in a conspicuous place, such as the kitchen for example. Do this every morning before leaving the house. By placing this sentence in a strategic place in his house, where we pass daily, we are sure to connect with this positive sentence.

Find your resource image

Identify and anchor in yourself an image, a music, the scene of a film that you like! Perhaps even find someone that you want to look like or someone you admire. You don’t have to tell anyone who it is, but you can subtly try and be a little more like them. Whether it’s their hairstyle, how they do their make up or perhaps how they dress! The idea is to connect to it instantly when your little inner voice whispers to you for example that "you will not succeed". A good way to get out of the negative spiral, in a situation where you doubt yourself. We connect to it as soon as we feel that we lack self-confidence, as if to give ourselves courage, before an important meeting, an interview for example.

Take a "posture break"

The way we stand is often a reflection of our state of mind, and can betray a lack of confidence. In front of a mirror, we straighten our shoulders and head, we take our chest out, we breathe consciously, and we look at each other, with assurance and benevolence. When you wake up, but also whenever you feel the need during the day (even 10 seconds!). Thus, we are in a more rewarding posture, for ourselves and in the eyes of others.

Awaken your senses

Reconnecting to your senses allows you to reconnect with yourself and strengthen self-esteem. Small, simple things like smelling a flower, savoring a piece of chocolate, listening to music that we like, applying a cream to the body, and feeling the emotion that this gives, enjoying this moment. Try and do this as often as possible. Rather than devouring a pastry, taste it, and take pleasure in applying a perfumed care after your shower. Add oils and moisturisers, this will make you look good too. Skincare is vital to look beautiful! Nice skin will automatically make you feel more confident, so don’t forget!

Make an appointment with you!

Whether you use a paper or digital diary, the idea is to identify one or two things a day that do us good and to include it in the program of the day, by marking it with a color that you love. It could be buying a magazine, treating yourself to a bouquet of flowers, taking a bath, watching a show on Netflix. This all contributes to a little bit of self-care. It is important to allow yourself "selfish" moments to take care of yourself, to have fun in the middle of busy days, where you tend to forget yourself. To add more confidence, you should get a facial, or a manicure. Something that will make you feel great!

Thank yourself

We often ruminate on setbacks or failures, the same should be done for successes, even small ones. Before going to bed, we take a little time for ourselves, just a few minutes to thank ourselves, cultivate kindness towards ourselves. We can think about the positive things that happened to us during the day, or what we were able to accomplish that we are proud of.
When? In the evening, to fall asleep, on a positive note, which makes us feel good, and which gives us a boost. Then of course - sleep. Beauty sleep makes us look good which makes us feel good! But it is not always easy to get 8 hours. When we don’t get enough sleep, we get puffy eyes, dark circles and this leads to ageing. Therefore, be sure to get into a good routine in order to look and feel good again.
Do you need something a little more extreme? A face lift can take years off you, or perhaps even botox. Why not look at something more subtle such as an LVL lash lift or hair extensions. These can add so much confidence to you! Even changing your fashion can make a difference! Buy a new jacket perhaps or a new blouse! Are you sure you've found the one that best suits you? Do you think it could be improved and that you could change some things? We should never see it that way because our outfit has the ability to strengthen both confidence and self-esteem, to facilitate relationships with others and all of this leads us to be more successful in life. It is also a way to assert who we are, to express our identity, which is why we should not persist in following fashion because we create a fictional character that distances us from who we really are.

Improve your figure to feel confident!

Nothing like exercise to lose weight and fat naturally. In addition, sport is beneficial for mental health and to relieve stress. Thanks to new technology, sport has found a new way to shine and become accessible and easy for everyone. Indeed, there are several applications to download on smart phones to allow you to have a few sports sessions adapted to your desires and your daily needs. Note that if you are not a sports fan, you can fit it in by simply choosing to walk rather than using public transport. Losing weight will give you extra confidence because you’ll be able to wear clothes that maybe you couldn’t before. You’ll feel elegant and beautiful. It will also be good for your health.

Change your diet

To naturally refine your silhouette, change your daily food hygiene by prioritizing, for example, breakfast, which is the best meal of the day. Eating a balanced diet doesn't have to mean going on a diet, just being careful about what you eat and drink throughout the day. Avoid snacking and replace your habits with probiotics or protein bars which in addition to being nourishing will give you an extra dose of energy to end your day as it should be. Also, don't forget to drink a lot of water, about 1.5-2L per day. This information is often repeated, but that's because it makes a big difference to the body. Indeed, since the body is 70% made, a large consumption of water can supply all the organs in addition to improving the oxygen supply to the muscles and preserving the joints. In addition, consuming a lot of water turns out to be nourishing, which greatly reduces feelings of hunger during the day.
So if you want to feel confident, it will take a little bit of work, but the work will be greatly beneficial to you in the long run. Take time for yourself, eat well, sleep well and exercise. This way you can feel good as well as look at it. And don’t forget to smile!!! Forget the smile lines and just be happy, that is the most beautiful thing!
